Description:

Level crossing here presented is located 400 meters south of Binefar train station, Barcelona side. According to the location in the urban area, the crossing is located southwest of city centre, the east side of the railway is urbanized, while the west side is dedicated to agricultural uses. The road crossing the railway is known as "Camino del Penchat" and gives access to the southeast agricultural plots.

Proposed solution consists on the modification of the road at the height of the existing level crossing so that the level crossing is replaced by an overpass moved 57 meters from current location in the direction of Barcelona (KP 139/295 on the line Barcelona – Zaragoza).

Proposed solution has been chosen for the next reasons: Improvement of pedestrian safety, vehicles, and railway compositions, lack of available room, reduction of the impact on nearby plots and buildings, minimization of impacts on train circulations.
