Description:

The aim of the present construction project is to replace seven railway level crossings along the line Arahal – Osuna in the province of Sevilla and 5 railway level crossings along the line Mérida-Los Rosales in the province of Badajoz.

Once begun the on site analysis for the optimum solutions and collected the observations of the affected organisms, a list with the railway level crossings to be removed will be organized by activities. In this way, each of the phases will comprise the level crossings to be replaced, with their railway structures, including upgrading and reparation of the affected roads, pedestrian paths and livestock paths.

On the other hand, each of the replacement works will include the definition of the required railway enclosures, specially in urban areas and close to pedestrian paths, in order to encourage the use of the over crossing structures.

In the case of the line Arahal-Osuna, the affected municipal districts are Paradas and Marchena.

In the case of the line Mérida-Los Rosales, the affected municipal districts are Mérida and Calamonte, the resolution of the passages in this last town being of vital importance for the development of the urban centre.
