Urban planning will aim the improvement in terms of quality of life and social cohesion of the populations by means of rational organization and according to general interests for the occupations and use of land, keeping the balance between use and activities.

Approval proceedings for Master Plan review turn out pioneering in Asturias as it has been the first Master Plan approved in the region since transposition of legislation from Europe Guidelines. These guidelines establish the necessity to create an Environmental Sustainability Report in the scope of Master Plans and Action Programs.

Thanks to the Plan, an instrument for town growing and infrastructure needs in the municipality is designed. This instrument allows a reasonable expansion, proportional to the capital and always according to environmental requirements and conditions.
